Four Rivers from Genesis

  • Genesis 2:10-14 lists the four rivers that define the location of the Garden of Eden: Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel and the Euphrates.
  • The first river, the Pison, flows around the land of Havilah, where there is gold.
  • The second river, the Gihon, encompasses the land of Ethiopia.
  • The third river is Hiddekel that goes toward the east.
  • The fourth river is Euphrates.
  • The first-century Jewish historian Josephus says the Gihon was also known as the Nile.
  • Could there have been two Euphrates Rivers as people migrated and renamed new rivers after the original Euphrates (that we think flowed into the original Lake Eden). More details in the book!

Location of the Lake Eden Development

The new megadam causes the Nile/Gihon River to flow through aqueducts along the ancient Euphrates riverbed to form

Lake Eden.
